Currently, the Cisco Smart Business Portal (CSBP) is only supported on Windows 2003 Server. Support for Windows Server 2008 should be available by Feb 2009

=== How do I edit and create new components for Smart Business Portal. ===

Visual express, studio and web developer and C editing programs. Vist the videos pageto find heplful vidoes on how to create new business adapters and how to add web parts to views.

=== Does the smart portal work with SharePoint? ===

.Net frameworks are the underlying components that run both SharePoint and the Cisco Smart Business Portal. The Cisco Smart Business Portal can potentially integrate with the SharePoint but is not package with the out-of-the-box CSBP solution. 4. Does the CSBP client show the below error while testing the CSBP server url under the CSBP client "Settings" tab?

First make sure DNS is properly configured to resolve the CSBP server hostname. A ping &lt;CSBPservername&gt; command can quickly test the connectivity. If the CSBP hostname cannot be resolved please contact you network administrator, otherwise continue to the solution.

Solution - Please add all CSBP client windows domain user accounts, with read and write permissions, to the dialplans.xml file on the CSBP server(not client).

=== Authentication pass through problems, or username and password authentication screen occurs when accessing CSBP resources like the Microsoft CRM, Great Plains Server, or CSBP? ===

Currently, CSBP uses windows integrated authentication and delegation of trusts to seamlessly authenticate between the servers (future releases will have a session based authentication method also). For more details, please refer to the installation guide prerequisites and/or the delegation for trust video.

=== The CSBP solutions works but searching for records from the CRM or GP is slow, why? ===

Please make sure you meet the requirements listed in the Cisco Smart Business Portal Installation Guide. Also, Please refer to the optimization uses cases

The SDK will help you understand and recreate the CSBP Microsoft CRM adapter functionality that comes with CSBP install set. The SDK will help you get familiarized with the CSBP business adapter and wep part components. Additional information can be found in the CSBP install and sdk documentation(provided with the CSBP installers). Instructional Video can be found here- click here

=== How does the phone-activity popup and customer summary behave in sales view and service view? ===

By default, phone-activity pop-up occurs when an inbound external call is received. The below table will further describe the behavior.

Manual dial vs click-to-dial. By default , CSBP installs with the services view and with log internal calls set to "yes". Sales view , by default, is not set to log internal calls. The below table shows the behavior of the CSBP client for click-to-dial or manual dialing methods, also note the sales view log internal calls has been set to"yes" in the server configuration utility Views tab. Please refer to installation guide for server configuration utility or the server configuration utility video link needed for information of log internal calls . Currently, calls made via manual dialing through CSBP onscreen dial pad or phone does not attempt to match records against the CRM or GP servers.

|=|=Phone activity\\pop-up\\occurrence|=Customer\\Summary\\record match|=|=|
| |	**Service** |**sales**|**service **|	**sales**|
|**Inbound call\\ from a\\local extension** |	yes*| yes| yes| Yes|

|**Outbound to \\external source\\ via click-to-dial**| yes*| yes |	Already\\populated| Already\\populated|
*Phone activity pop-ups occur only when the parent account view is present. Click-to-dial, inbounds calls, or outbound calls will not activate the phone activity popup| when the customer summary is populated with a contact rather than a parent account in CSBP.

Please refer to use cases and documentation section for additional information on the CSBP solution.</summary>
