I am completely new to AXP and wondering if it would be hard to build and run node.js (http://nodejs.org/) ? It works fine on Mac OS X and Linux (tested Ubuntu and Fedora). Would it be testable using the AXP virtual machine image ? Thanks

The AXP VMware image uses Cent OS 5.2 as its OS as does the other images. As a result, you may need to add or replace libraries in order to get your application to run when you port it to AXP. When using the other images on NME or SRE service modules you can replace the image with another LInux flavor such as Ubuntu or Fedora.

There is a recently release product called Service Ready Engine Virtualization which is the next generation of AXP as it does not require packaging or porting of your application. You can read more about this product and download images at http://developer.cisco.com/web/srev or www.cisco.com/go/ucse . We strongly recommend that you consider this product as an alternative to AXP.
