written software for the AXP?

Combination View Flat View Tree View
Hi,

I have search a long time on the internet and in some forums. Does a
source exist where I can download ready software for the AXP?
Like a .rpm for Nagios/Snort?

Thank you for your answers emoticon

Hi Florian,

Cisco AXP release 1.5.x and beyond utilizes CentOS 5.2 as its guest OS for installed applications. Below is a link that provides compatible rpms. You are not tied to this guest environment and can create your own linux flavor. For more information please review the AXP Developer Guide section: Setting up AXPUDL with RPM support . The guide and other information is available via: http://developer.cisco.com/web/axp/docs

Thanks,

Hi Brett,

thanks for the response. I have the AXP-AIM with the software version 1.1.7 (AIM-APPRE-102-K9), so I can´t use the 1.5.x
It is possible to run on these older model the same .rpms from CentOS 5.2?

Regards

Florian

Hi Florian,

Nope. The AXP 1.1.x releases use Fedore Core 4 and does not support rpms.. You can find rpms for FC4 via an rpm site such as http://rpm.pbone.net . However, you'll need to extract the rpms, and package the content with your application to get the functionality. Another option after extraction would be to package the content separately make this package dependent upon your installed application to get the functionality. Please check the AXP User Guide section 'RPM File Extractor Tool' for more information.

Thanks,

Brett

Hi Brett,

sorry, no RPM File Extractor Tool section in the AXP User Guide from:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/ax/1.1/user/guide/axpusr.html

exists. Where can I find that?

Florian

Hi Florian,

You can find the "RPM File Extractor Tool Section" in the AXP Developer Guide from :

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/ax/1.1/developer/guide/axpdev.html

Thanks,
Anusha

Hi Florian,

Sorry, I specified the correct section but the wrong guide. Anusha has referred you to the correct one. You can download this guide and much more from this site as well: http://developer.cisco.com/web/axp/docs .

Ok, I will read this, thank you very much!
