AXP Discovery by Cisco Router

Combination View Flat View Tree View
Hi all,

Anyone here knows whether Cisco Router's EIGRP (or maybe IOS) is able to discover Cisco AXP automatically (or manually) ?
Any link or documentations to share ?

I am not sure if I understand the question. Can you elaborate what exactly is the objective.

AXP is just like a server connected to a router using cross over cable from a very high level perspective.

Thanks

Hi Anurag,

I would like to have all packets and routing table towards Cisco router to re-direct (hijack) to Cisco AXP.
Is it possible to do that ?

By the way, I got another question whether there is any emulator for Cisco AXP and Router.

Regards,
Zoebir

You can use PBR to redirect all packets flowing through the router to AXP. There is an AXP emulator on www.developer.cisco.com/web/axp/doc

If you are looking at AXP solution then I would encourage you to look at UCS Express. This is the next generation virtualization technology powered by VMWare vSphere Hypervisor http://wwwin.cisco.com/artg/products/ucse/

Hi Zoebir,

The AXP emulator runs on VMware and is in this platform file: axp-k9.vmw.1.6.1.tar.gz . Also the technical center is at url: http://developer.cisco.com/web/axp/docs

As Anurag pointed out there is a new second generation product Services Ready Engine Virtualization (SRE-V) that makes porting and installing your application onto the service module much easier than AXP. You can read more about this product and download files from http://developer.cisco.com/web/srev .

Thanks,

Brett
