Quick Reply
Hi All,
I am using ISR G2 2951 with built-in AXP service module and EtherSwitch SM-ES3G-16-P. (16 ports)
I would like to have a LAN connection through EtherSwitch (gigabitEthernet 2/0).
I established connection between Router (6.1.1.1/24) with EtherSwitch (6.1.1.2/24) through internal backplane (GigE 2/0).
I can console into EtherSwitch and below is the interfaces of EtherSwitch:
Switch-X1>sh ip int br
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
Vlan1 unassigned YES manual administratively down down
GigabitEthernet0/1 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/2 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/3 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/4 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/5 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/6 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/7 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/8 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/9 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/10 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/11 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/12 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/13 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/14 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/15 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/16 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/17 unassigned YES unset down down
GigabitEthernet0/18 unassigned YES unset up up
I used DHCP server on EtherSwitch and had configured DHCP server as followings. I excluded 6.1.1.1 and 6.1.1.2.
Switch-X1#sh ip dhcp pool
Pool 1 :
Utilization mark (high/low) : 100 / 0
Subnet size (first/next) : 0 / 0
Total addresses : 254
Leased addresses : 0
Excluded addresses : 2
Pending event : none
1 subnet is currently in the pool :
Current index IP address range Leased/Excluded/Total
6.1.1.1 6.1.1.1 - 6.1.1.254 0 / 2 / 254
My purpose is to have EtherSwitch assigning IP automatically to any PC connecting to the switch.
I tried to "dhclient eth0" at PC. But cannot obtain any IP address assigned.
Question: Is all the above setting correct ? Anything I had missed out ? Do I need to include DNS ?
Regards,
Zoebir

Hi Zoebir,
I guess this query is not related to the AXP. Please check with your network administrator in this regard.
Thanks,
Anusha
