This enables a productive and personalized UC user experience.

With this free-to-download and easy-to-use API, you can instantly access rich Cisco Unified Communications to have a tailored and familiar collaboration experience from within your own application.

Integrating this functionality into an application means that end users can call co-workers, business partners, or customers through Cisco Unified Communications Manager from within that application – no need to manually place calls from the Cisco Unified IP Phone or a Cisco Unified Communications Client. 

Cisco Unified Communications clients have the ability to create calls using a built in soft phone or Cisco Unified IP Phone. They also provide tight integration into third party applications such as the Microsoft Office suite and the primary Internet browsers.
 
Third party integration in to these applications is possible through the Cisco Unified Applications Integration API. This COM API allows the developer to extend their applications to use the calling functionality of these clients.
