Cisco Access Registrar (CAR)
The Cisco Access Registrar application programming interface enables application developers or customers to build and plug-in their own custom logic using extension points. Cisco AR provides several extension points in various stages of packet processing which allows the application developer to customize packet processing logic depends on their need based on the incoming/outgoing radius attributes values. Cisco AR supports three different types of extension points(C/C++, TCL, JAVA) through which AR API's can be accessible which provides further flexibility to the application developers to select their own language of interest for developing the custom logic. Cisco AR also exposes an logical API through which customers or application developers can send radius/XML query to AR for retrieving the user session information for example IP address.
