Cisco Prime Network Registrar Cisco Prime Network Registrar

Cisco Prime Network Registrar automates common tasks such as IP address assignment and management, DHCP and client policy definition and distribution, and day-to-day server maintenance to simplify and streamline IP network configuration and administration. Features such as the LDAP directory interface facilitate integration of DNS and DHCP services with other network management and client-provisioning or service-provisioning applications. Performance-optimized functions provide fast setup and task execution, and an availability-tuned architecture helps ensure reliable and consistent client services delivery.A DNS caching server supports DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) and is designed to prevent cache poisoning and other attacks. Cisco Prime Network Registrar’s rich and extensible features distinguish the application suite from other DHCP and DNS servers and IP address management (IPAM) applications available in the market today.

XDE is a graphical scripting language for orchestrating complex, expertise-rich network management tasks. It consists of:

  1. a runtime engine for embedding into existing systems e.g. an NMS or blade
  2. the XDE SDK for creating orchestration procedures and device interaction packages

The XDE SDK is a plug-in for Eclipse that provides a complete development environment for building flowchart and device interaction packages. These packages can communicate with (potentially live) networks, automating tasks that are typically done interactively today.
