The release date for the developer SDK v1 is September 30, 2010.  This SDK will have the standard android API's and an  android emulator with CIUS skin.  There will be an SDK v2 which will add other API's which will enable the developer to take advantage of other Cisco Unified Communication and Collaboration API's.

Is there availability for a beta version for the same. I want to develop a program now.



Not at this time.  I know some developers are starting with the Android Developer Kit available at http://developer.android.com/sdk

Well, it looks like the files included are the skin. no instructions were included so...to install, unzip and drop the folder in:
.../android-sdk-linux_86/platforms/android-8/skins/
 
then go to the AVD manager and create a new AVD with a target of 2.2, then choose the cius from the built in skins. start it up and you should be set!
 
some interesting hints are in the hardware.ini. It looks like we get a sdcard, but no trackball, and the ramsize seems to be 512. The camera looks to be 640x480, and I see both a GPS and acceleromter. Display is 1024x600, but we knew that.
 
looks good so far, just like what I expected. I can't remember--will the screen be a capacitave touch?

Was the skin released with the SDK yet?
