The Rich Unified Communications (UC) Labs make up an extensive test facility. This test environment includes a series of preconfigured test topology labs designed to support different testing needs.

1. Basic Unified Communications Collaboration Lab (Voice, Video)
This is the most basic Rich UC lab environment available.
This lab contains:- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (version 8.6 or version 9.0)
- Active Directory and DNS Server
It is ideal for:
- Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) endpoint registration
- Skinny Call Control Protocol (SCCP) endpoint registration
- Voice and Video functionality testing
- eXtensible Markup Language (XML) based feature testing
- Computer-Telephony Integration (CTI) testing
2. Unified Communications Collaboration Lab (Voice, Video IM and Presence)
This is a general purpose Unified Communications lab environment designed for testing collaboration functionalities.
This lab contains:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager
- Cisco Unified Presence Server
- Active Directory and DNS Server
Note:Cisco Unity Connection Server and other application servers can be added if required.
It supports phone registration, XML-based feature testing, and CTI and Administrative XML (AXL) provisioning application testing. SIP and SCCP endpoints are also supported.
3. Cisco Jabber Environment (Voice, Video, IM and Presence)
This environment is specifically designed to test the use of the Jabber SDK; and also for Cisco Jabber client integrations.
This lab contains:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager
- Cisco Unified Presence Server
- Active Directory and DNS Server
Note: Further application servers can be added on demand
It is used to test voice, video, IM and presence collaboration capability integration into web applications.
4. Extended Cisco Jabber Environment (Voice, Video, IM, Presence and Voicemail)
This lab offers the full Cisco Jabber SDK environment.
It contains:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager
- Cisco Unified Presence Server
- Active Directory and DNS Server
- Cisco Unity Connection Server
Note: Further application servers can be added on demand
It is used to support the integration of voicemail in addition to voice, video, IM, and presence collaboration capabilities. This lab also makes full use of the Cisco Jabber Client software capabilities.
5. Interoperability Verification Testing (IVT) Lab
This is a standard Interoperability Verification Testing (IVT) environment, and contains:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager Publisher
- 2 x Subscribers
- Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST)
- Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)
- Remote Office Cisco Unified Communications Manager Publisher
Note: Application servers can be added on demand
In addition to testing a solution's compatibility with Cisco products, it is designed to be used for call control feature and functionality testing such as redundancy, load, negative and feature testing of general unified communications 3rd party applications.
6. Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) Environment
This environment is designed to support testing of Cisco Virtualization Experience Infrastructure (VXI) integrations, and contains:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager
- Cisco Unified Presence Server
- Active Directory Server
- Desktop Delivery Controller
- Hosted Virtual Desktop (HVD) x 3
Note: Further application servers can be added on demand.
7. Contact Center Lab
This lab includes Contact Center components to simulate a complete enterprise network with a head office and branch network. It is designed to support pre-IVT and IVT Contact Center solution testing.
This lab contains:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager Publisher
- Head Office and Branch Office Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs)
- 2 x Subscribers
- Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST)
- Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) load generation testing equipment
- Remote Office Unified Communications Manager Publisher
- Connected Contact Center components
- Cisco Unified Presence Server
- Active Directory Server
- Cisco Unity Connection Server
