Getting Started

Thank you for your interest in the Context-Aware Mobility solution.  This section will describe how partners can develop their own solutions.

Step 1: Accept Context-Aware Mobility Technical License Agreement

Each technology partner/developer must review and accept the Context-Aware Mobility Technical License Agreement (TLA) to gain access to resources such as whitepapers, tools, or Context-Aware Mobility API.  Please see this document for a step-by-step look at how to successfully complete the TLA process.

Step 2: Access Resources

  • Download the following documents from the Context-Aware Mobility Resources section available on this tech center:
    • Context-Aware Getting Started Guide
      • Provides installation and reference information on the Context-Aware API
    • Context-Aware Mobility API Specification
      • Provides Soap Requests/Response format for all Context-Aware API calls
  • Setup development environment
    • For Java Application Development, install the following:
      • Any Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse or Netbeans
      • Java2 SE Development Kit (J2SE 5.0)
      • Java Web Services Developer Pack (JWSDP 2.0)
      • Apache Axis2 Framework
    • For C# Application Development, install the following:
      • Microsoft .Net Framework
      • Any text editor program, such as Notepad
    • Download the appropriate plug-ins
      • For Java, download the Eclipse plug-in
      • For C#, download the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 plug-in
  • Setup infrastructure
  • Download the WSDL files and examples available in the Context-Aware Mobility Resources section
    • Refer to Context-Aware Getting Started guide for more information

For simple technical API queries, technology partners/developers may post questions in the forum section.  For support beyond such queries, please go to the Support link above to open a case or join the Developer Services Program.  Additional information on the Developer Services Program can be found at http://developer.cisco.com/web/devservices.

For questions, please email contextaware-api_mgr@external.cisco.com.

Step 3: Apply to become a Cisco Technology Partner/Developer in the CDN Program

If interested in the program, a technology partner/developer may apply to be a part of the Cisco Developer Network (CDN) program.  For details and guidelines about the CDN program, please email contextaware-api_mgr@external.cisco.com.

To register as a CDN technology partner/developer, a technology partner/developer will need to fill out and submit an application.

Once the CDN technology partner/developer application has been reviewed and approved by Cisco, an email notification will be sent to the technology partner/developer to review and accept the CDN Program Agreement.
