Cannot access the CUAE Management Console after installing CUAE-appserver-2

Combination View Flat View Tree View
Threads [ Previous | Next ]
I just built a new server to test the latest beta version of CUAE, however, I cannot access the management console. Any ideas? I've attached a copy of my httpd.conf file.

Neel,

Are you having problem, accessing the mceadmin or the cuaeadmin. Do you
see the Management Server service running? Can you let us know the URL
that you are using.

Thanks,
Rajesh

Also, when you say 'cannot access', could you be more specific as to
what your browser says?

Seth

The management console service is running. I try to go to the mceadmin webpage and get a page cannot be displayed. When I try to go to the cuaeadmin webpage, I get "Error 404: Not Found"

Can you send us the wrapper.log located in C:\Program Files\Cisco
Systems\Unified Application Environment\MgmtServiceLauncher\logs

Thanks,
Rajesh

If you access http://<host>:8080/cuaeadmin, do you still get a 404?
Just checking to make sure it's not the apache reverse proxy.

I'm able to get to the login page if I try that. However, I don't know what the username and password is. I was never prompted to create one during the install.

I have tried the mceadmin and hte cuaeadmin. We have found that possibly we need licensing to match the mac address. Our Cisco SE is looking into getting licenses from the BU to test with. All services are up and running but still cannot get the mce to run. Are we on the right track?

Hi:

Since this is an SDK install, it comes with 6 default license pack. And
licensing should not be the reason for not accessing mceadmin console.

It usually happens if different passwords are used or "root" is not used
as the default database admin.

Let's start with management logs from C:\Program Files\Cisco
Systems\Unified Application Environment\Logs\Management

Thanks,

-Zafar

Attachment not added (content type not allowed): "att1.html"

I cannot attach my log, as I'm getting an error: "The content type of the file '20080710-10234807.log.txt' is not allowed."
I am now able to get to the Management Console website, but do not have a login ID or password to login.

Zafar,
We were told by the cisco tac to build the CUAE on Cisco gear and OS. Since we did that it appears that we are attempting to build the production configuration.
Raminder Mann, our Cisco SE, is attempting to get a license PAK for activation of the application. Can I edit the SDK license to run the production server? Most likely not and I am sure you recommend against it but just want to test the production build. As per your request for the management logs there is not a folder that is listed as a management folder. I have everything from the appserver to the watchdog but no management.

Should be administrator/metreos. I believe this is stated in our beta
install docs (I think we have some? I had a lengthy conversation with
our tech writer about this very issue). We have/had an install wizard
where you set this kind of thing in our old mceadmin. We will have a
similar thing for the cuaeadmin starting our next beta release.

P.S. This seems to mean the reverse proxy stuff didn't get set up
properly. Would you mind zipping up the contents of
<install_path>\System\Apache\conf and sending it to me?

Bill:

SDK licenses would run fine on the production machine. These are just
script instance and other resource pack.

Summary:

You have MCS-7825
It has Cisco OS (2003.1.2a ?)

Ran core-addendum (what is the exact version ?)
Restarted the machine
Ran platform service installer (what is the exact version ?)
Ran application server installer
Ran media server installer
Restarted the machine

You accepted "root" whenever offered as default by the installer dialog
boxes
Used same password throughout the installation process

Your Issue: Unable to access http:<ip-address>/mceadmin page

Please confirm the above and send us the 3 configuration files I
requested in my previous email.

Thanks,

-Zafar
