Hi,
What is the criteria to decide about the h/w (MCS or other sever) specifiction and CUAE licensing. We are currently proposing our CUAE based applications to a customer. This customer has around 7000 IP phones. Which MCS server we should propose and how much CUAE license required. Do you have any document related to h/w and CUAE license sizing? Mainly which MCS server can support how many phones and how many request. Is there any limitation on CUAE server that a single CUAE server can support on x number of devices or maximum x number (except number of licenses available) request . Please let me know if there is any limitation on CUAE.

There is already one query at your forum but there is no response for this. (

Hi Umesh,

The number of licenses required will depend on the customer's requirement that how many application sessions, Calls or media actions does he intend to run simultaneously. Say if there is going to be a peak scenario of 250 applications being triggered then the license should be enough for supporting 250 simultaneous application sessions and corresponding calls and media(RTP) actions.

When you ask about supporting x number of devices, what do you want to do to these devices using CUAE? Do you want to place calls to these devices using the CUAE or are you planning to put these devices in the CUAE's monitored device pool. Here, as per the usage, the license requirement will change.

The CUAE can support the fllowing :

Application sessions: 9999(MAX)
Voice Ports: 240
RTP Ports: 240
Enhanced RTP ports: 240
Conference Ports: 240
Speech Integration ports: 240
TTS Ports: 60

Under peak conditions, the behaviour of the MCS boxes differ. It depends on their h/w configuration. Some machines eat up more CPU usage as compared to the other machines under the same conditions. We have a BHCA and CPU usage comparison of some standard MCS boxes. Please let me know if you need those.

Rakesh.

Hi Rakesh,

Can you please send me CPU and memory usage related details at umesh.c@parsectech.in

Hi,

Our customer has 3 clusters with 7000 lines and wants to deploy single CUAE server for all clusters. Application we are deploying is mainly text and voice messaging. Which MCS server we should proposed. Is there any datasheet available at CIsco site to propose MCS server type? e.g. if customer has 1000 phones deployment then 7825, 1000-2000 phones then 7835 etc.
This datasheet is really impotant for us.

Umesh
