Can you give us some information about the ID that the SIP client is
logging? An example log will help.

Thanks,

Subject: [Cuae-developers] JTAPI Question: Need unique call identifier
forJTAPI and external SIP client

We received this question in the IRC Channel from jbartels:

I have what I hope is a quick JTAPI question
Trying to find a unique call identifier that both JTAPI and an external
SIP client will have
goal being to be able to have JTAPI record some data about a call and
then be able to correlate that to a logfile from this SIP client
each is connecting to the same CUCM if it matters
the JTAPI callID is yielding a 6-digit callID, the SIP client is logging
some UUID/GUID
any ideas?

Answer from Rajesh:

Unfortunately, we don't have a correlate that will tie these two calls.

If the license where Daniel mentioned looks OK and you still have this problem, you may have no valid HMP license. Please check the license in the license management as well as sending us media engine log in verbose mode. When you collect the media engine log, please restart media engine and execute the call before collecting the log. I need to see a beginning part of your media engine log which shows the licensed media ports.

CDRs are flat files delivered to up to 3 target destinations by CM on a
periodic basis (by default I think 1 minute.) As such it will be at
least several minutes before the CDRs are delivered, and CDRs are not
even generated until the call is completed.

CDRs are not stored in any DB and cannot be obtained in bulk via AXL.

If your application needs real time info on a call and devices you will
need to look into using CTI - i.e. JTAPI native or via CUAE, or TAPI
native.

Hi Youngjin,

Thanks for your suggestion. That sounds like it would work well.

What would be the best way to pull the CDR information out of CUCM from within a CUAE Java application? I looked through the APIs but could not find what looked like the right one.

Thanks again,
Tracy.

Matt,

That would be one option. I want to suggest an idea and see if it would
work for you. Since the SIP device registration happens when the device
comes online, we could use JTAPI to get the information when the device
becomes online.

For this you would need to add the devicenames to the monitored device
pool. When the device becomes online, you will get in-service events
from Jtapi. You can also query the device status using
JTapiGetDeviceStatus.

In the future (no dates available yet) we are thinking of adding SIP
notifications through web services and very likely to be available in
the presence server.

Thanks,
Rajesh

Would I then have to poll the CiscoDeviceList every so often to detect a
SIP device registration? Is there a better way? Are there plans to
support SIP device registration status in the Presence Server in the
future?

Thanks,

Subject: [Cuae-developers] CUAE 2.5/C#/etch MakeCall timeout value

I have a problem with MakeCall in CUAE 2.5 using the C# etch bridge.

Regardless of whether or not I use server.makeCall() or
server.beginMakeCall(), I always get a returnValue of "SUCCESS".

If I specify a timeout (say 10 seconds)...the phone rings for 10
seconds, then stops ringing, and I get a success value! In fact, I get
a callId, a conferenceId, a connectionId, etc:

[0] {MakeCallResult(returnValue=SUCCESS;
callId=1000005; mmsId=1; to=7847; from=FidelusCCR; originalTo=;
connectionId=16777244; conferenceId=16777225; mediaTxIP=192.168.102.18;
mediaTxPort=31296; mediaTxCodec=G711u; mediaTxFramesize=30; endReason=)}
cisco.uc.cuae.legacy.types.CallControl.MakeCallResult

This seems identical (except for actual id values) to a call I made
where I answer the call.

How can I tell if a call is answered or not?

Aaron

Hi Tim,

By mistake I replied to the wrong post(I was replying to your other mail
that was sent to me on this issue).

In CreateConnection 'MediaRxControlIP / Port' refers to the RTCP address
/ port. You need to use the 'MediaRxIP' and 'MediaRxPort' instead for
getting the RTP (media) IP and Port.

Thanks,
Shameer.

Hi Tim,

I understand that you want to multicast some audio from the CUAE serve
to a set of phones. Are you using a 'Play' command to play the media
onto the conference? Or, can you please describe the scenario a bit more
in detail?

Thanks,

Subject: [Cuae-developers] custom make-call application

Hello,
I have an application triggered by Http.GotRequest. In this
application, I have 'To' and 'From' fields. The 'To' field is the
terminating phone (the one that answers) in the call. The 'From' phone
is the originating side of the call. When I trigger this app from my
browser, I want the 'From' phone to ring, which acts as an originating
phone, as if you picked up a phone, got dial tone, and dialed out. When
I pick up the 'From' phone, I receive the onMakeCallComplete event.
When I get that event, I want to perform a 'makeCall' with the 'To'
phone (the terminating side.) The ultimate goal is to have a
connection between the 'To' and 'From' phone. I'm not sure how to do
this. I have a connectionId from 'onMakeCallComplete'. How do I use
that to connect to the 'To' phone?

Thanks,
Matt

No special considerations with IPC. If the IPC call is triggering the
CUAE application, then the app server logs in verbose mode might help.
Verify that there is not filter on your AnswerCall application to only
respond to calls from certain number or devices, for example the "To"
parameter set to something specific.

Hello all,

i have the AnswerCall application running on my new build of CUAE. the
application works well when dialing from a physical hard attached to the
same switch, however, if i use the CIPC softphone for testing the app, i
receive a fast busy

IE:
IP Phone 1008 -> Dials -> AnswerCall Trigger 51109 -> Success
IPC Softphone 1009 -> Dials -> AnswerCall Trigger 51109 -> Failure

IPC 1009 ->Dials -> 1008 -> Success

all the settings appear to be consistent between the Physical IP Phone
and the Softphone. the only difference, is that the softphone is not
directly on the same network the CUAE/UCM servers exist. but that
doesn't seem to explain the fast busy.

are there any special considerations when using IPC and CUAE?

thanks again,
Regan

Steve,

SIP has a Redirect Information. So, you can have 3 phone numbers - From,
To, and OriginalTo. In case of Forwarded call, To and OriginalTo is
different number in SIP. To is the final forwarded number and OriginalTo
is the original called number.

Steve,

As Zafar indicated, there is no clean way to determine if it has been
forwarded to voicemail. But I want to suggest the closest available
option and see it would fit your needs.

You can know that a call had been redirected, but you would not know if
it was redirected to voicemail or not. When the call is routed to
voicemail, you will get a hangup event (using jtapi 3rdparty) and it has
a callcontrol cause field in it. This field will indicate 'REDIRECTED'.

There was a trick. I had done this a few years ago (Java 1.4 days). I am
not sure whether it is still available in the current JRE days.

JDK included ActiveX converter (I don't remember the name but it was in
bin directory). You can have active dll which is a Java bean dll and you
can load that dynamically from your Win32 app or ASP(or VB script). It
was very easy and any VBscript or ASP applications can work with Java
jar well. However, I don't recommend that for performance critical
applications. For Performance critical applications, I used JNI. When I
deployed the jar app at that time, I developed the JNI wrapper and it
made Java application look native application to the customer's
perspective even if it was actually Java application in the core.

I hope that it is helpful.

CUAE does not provide guideline for application deployment...

Since customer can deploy the app anywhere on different OSes, this is up
to developer to come up with the best practice based on customer's
requirements.

This is something you can consider, wrap your java app into a service
and the OS should have facility for you to perform auto restart.

I think my question might not make sense. What I'm trying to say is
that does cisco provides any scripts or deployment guide to run the jar

I can run the jar file from a command line...But in the event that the

With Etch, one of the advantages is that you dont have to be on the CUAE
box. So, you could run you applications from your own production box
(non CUAE) box and connect to the CUAE box.

Alternatively, you can run it on the CUAE box as well if you do not have
additional boxes. You could have your own installers for your
applications or even just take the jar and drop it in your production
box and run it from there.

Thanks,

Rajesh

Hi all,

I have been building an app in java that and I have been using eclipse
to run the app but am now ready for production.

How do I run the application on the production server or is there any
documentation on this?

Thanks,

Hung,
Thanks for the instructions.

I see that the current downloadable HMP is release 3.0 update 232.

Can you please tell me what version of HMP currently ships with
Production servers of cuae 2.5?

CUAE 2.5 is not compatible with HMP 3.0 lower than SU 210. Please make
sure that HMP 3.0 SU 210 or higher should be in your system before you
install CUAE 2.5 Installers.

For reference, CUAE 2.4 should not use HMP 3.0 higher than SU 210.

Thanks

Youngjin,
The 2.4 server is running:

Dialogic HMP Release 3.0 update 182

the 2.5 server is running:

Intel HMP Release 3.0 update 128

(note the 182 versus the 128).

I did not see this as seperate download. I await your email.

Thanks!!!!
