Tracy,   All of the CUAE documentation and downloads are available through the cisco webpage. www.cisco.com/go/cuae. You have to procure an off the shelf copy of windows 2008 (32-bit), install CUAE 8.5 on top of it, take a back up of the existing data and import it on the new install.

The documentation and download links are available at the usual place on the developer site:   http://developer.cisco.com/web/cuae/   We would also like to encourage you to migrate your and the customers environment to the 8.5 release at the earliest. The 8.0 release that works on MCS OS 2003 (Windows 2003) has a relatively short life (~4-6 months) and the releases prior to this (2.4/2.5) have already been retired.    Feel free to reach us through this forum for any further questions or concerns.

No. Althought many developers run the application server in VMWare, it is not Cisco TAC supported. CUAE virtualization (both app. server and media engine) is coming up in 8.0 (Apr. 2010)
