Cisco Unified Application Environment Software Development Kit comprises of the following:

  1. Application Server
  2. Media Engine and

Getting started with the Cisco Unified Application Environment is easy. Installation Guide wiki & the links below will help you to find more information, download software and initiate the process quickly.

Install Prerequisites #

Go to the Prerequisites page for more information on what is required to install and run the developer kit.

Download the Installers #

Go to the Software Releases page to download the free developer kit installers. The developer kit (includes the Application Server, Media Engine, and Developer Tools) runs on Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2003.

Install the Services and Tools #

Follow the instructions on the Installation Guide page to install and configure the Unified Application Environment.

Build an Application #

Visit the Examples section to build sample applications.

Important Note on the CUAE SDK #

You must need to download and install all of the Developer Kit Prerequisites only when you want to prepare your developer environment on a personal computer which runs on Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2003 with required hardware like a machine hosting both the Cisco Unified Application Server and Cisco Unified Media Engine have at least 1.5 GB of RAM.

An Intel processor is required to run the Cisco Unified Media Engine properly. The Cisco Unified Media Engine is not supported on AMD processors. Some laptops with Intel processors are not compatible with the Cisco Unified Media Engine due to incompatible APIC timer hardware. Read Cisco Unified Media Engine Hardware Requirements for more details.

All of the above instructions are valid for the latest CUAE 8.0 release & earlier free UAE 2.5 Developer Kits. CUAE SDK Installation 2.4.X contains installation instructions for the previous version of the Developer Kit.
