About #

Right from 6th Jun 2008, when the first preview / Alpha-2 release of CUAE 2.5(1) was made, uptil 22nd Sep 2008 we had four Beta releases on the new Cisco Unified Application Environment which for the initial time exposes the Cisco Unified Communication API's in native languages Java / C# via the Etch IDL.

At last on 7th Oct 2008, final public official customer shipment was made. This major Cisco Unified Application Environment release 2.5(1) had the following features & enhancements in addition to bug fixes and general improvements over a period of time during the beta process / testing:

  • Language and Integrated Development Environment Flexibility
  • Enhanced Developer Experience
  • New Messaging Plugin
  • Enhanced Administration Experience

For details and links to current CDETS Issues, see the Release Notes.

Tips: During the beta process we had shared coding tips / development how-to's / stepbystep guideline for novice developers / typical application work-flows / nitty-gritties / screenshot for application & plugin development etc... in our examples wiki page. FYI., those samples depend upon the new features / API provisioned as part of the CUAE 2.5 beta release. We have captured important notes about the changes over here in the Unified App Envt 2.5 Beta Release Notes wiki section. Please be aware, more latest topic in-line with formal official public CUAE relases made later-on, have been captured over here.
