Those queries are related to the inmemory datastores which has changed slightly with CUP release 8.6.4 &amp; above. If using 8.6.4 &amp; above try the following.

None of CUP APIs would let you do this. CUP doesnt get incoming phone call alters but will only get information from CUCM only when user has answered. 

CUPC+AD integration already lets you do this right

Setting presence functionality is available only on the 7.x version of SOAP API &amp; not in 8.x &amp; 9.0 (yet to be released). I an other release the 7.x interface will be deprecated. Wouldnt advice you to go the SOAP route for setting presence status.

Alternate is XMPP BOSH interface (CAXL). Did you consider this option?

    <summary type="html">For updating phone status, you could very well do it by calling AXL on Call manager. No need to come via CUP. Currently the component which sets the DND status for a user adopts the very same concept.

What SOAP version you are invoking? Get-Contact-list API will work only on the 1 version of SOAP interface ie https://hostname/EPASSoap/service/v70.

I suppose you are calling getContactList within GetAllConfig? What version of CUP are you using?

getContactList has been deprecated in 8.0 version of SOAP interface. Only a subset of contact management features are retained in 8.0 version of SOAP API. Although you will have the older SOAP version (7.x) supported till 9.0, it will be deprecated from 9.5.

Did you try using the CAXL interface, those are the ones you should try moving to.

    <summary type="html">Super user account holders are not listed in validappusers (validappusers is an inmemory database which hold only users of Admin-3rd party API/ Admin CUMA user types), so you wont expected to see all app users there. But reg your problem with app user not being valid when moved to 3rd party API group, we had an internal defect (not visible in bug tool kit) which may be fixed in 8.6.4 &amp; 9.0 (both are not released).

Check if the application user is assigned to the right group from the CUP administration GUI which I think you have, I dont think there are any special roles for that group. 

The only other think which you should be aware is the use of the appropriate client type within the login requst, do look at the logs which would give you more detailed info abt the error. The log you should be looking at is.

file tail activelog tomcat/logs/epassoap/log4j/*.log

Make sure you have Cisco UP Client Profile Agent service in debug mode. 

As Adrienne commented, can you login end users ?

I believe using get-contact-info API of  SOAP interface, you should be able retrieve presence &amp; non presence contacts. BAT import feature which is due for release in 8.6.4 should give you a similar capability to import contacts over Admin GUI.

Yes - you were referring to the AXL API which is not #4 or #5. Even though its exposed, its not supported in CDN. CUCM supports this interface in CDN but CUP doesnt.
