Ports on ingress gateway consumed and new call arrives

Hello CVP team

I have a quick question regarding what happens if I have an ingress gateway co-resident with VXML where the local port resources are consumend while a new call arrives (SIP). I have the "send call to originator" configured to terminate the call on the ingress gateway. Is a new call now dropped or can CVP handle this problem and send the call to another CVP resource on the network?

Many thanks for your help

Frank

Frank,

If the INVITE to the gateway from CVP is rejected or times out, then CVP (or Proxy) can try the next destination gateway in your failover route list.
Once the gateway answers the call and the call is setup, failover opportuniy is gone.
Im not sure you will get a rejection in this case. There is tuning configuration for having the timed out calls fail faster.

When you say local port resources, do you mean socket connections for SIP messaging cannot established to the gateway?

So the invite from the Poxy should be rejected by the ingress gateway if his ressources are consumed? I agree that would be interesting to know. Forget about the "send call to originator" statement. We do not use this with SIP proxy.

With local port resources i mean the maximum cvp ports on that specific router model are busy.
