Hello trainers!

Included in this post are Zip files containing updated training contents for the Installation & Administration class as well as the Boot Camp class for the newest release of Audium software now called Studio and Call Services (or version 3.4) for Cisco CVP training.

The archive contents are primarily the same as the Audium-branded content with changes having to do with the sample applications and installation instructions. Audium and Cisco are currently involved in creating a combined trainign class that will have an entirely new agenda and content that will be entirely Cisco-branded. Until then, the contents of the Cisco and Audium branded classes will be almost identical.

The archives are organized logically, containing all the material the trainer needs to teach the class such as slides and quick references. The archive also contains a folder that the trainer can disseminate to the students to aid in the class.

An additional note is that Audium has begun using services provided by Product Support Solutions (PSS) to make the training experience better. They can provide and ship to the training facility any number of laptops that have a full SIP-based voice browser, a softphone, and individual headphones, and any software Audium deems necessary. There are quite a few advantages to this. Firstly, students will be able to "call into" their applications by using the internal browser without having to worry about setting up a network, or having external access (which is almost always a problem in any place but the best set up training facilities). Secondly, the laptops are all identical with identical specifications, so you do not have to worry about people's own laptops having issues with installaing the software, having unsupported OSes, etc. Overall, the experince for the students is better. Some of the archives have in them special content to be used when PSS laptops are used.

The following lists the archives and their contents.

Boot Camp (12-04)

This is the boot camp class for Audium. The contents are:

  • A folder containing the agenda.
  • A folder with two Studio versions of complete applications that can be shown to students.
  • A folder with database connectivity information (for MySQL and Tomcat).
  • A folder containing two quick references and the Audium Bank specification.
  • A folder containing the slideshow for the class.
  • A folder containing files that the trainer can give to the students to help in the class (for example, the AgeIdentification XML decision, the Receptionist Java classes, and pre-built versions of the tutorial applications). Note that when using the PSS laptops, a different set of content must be used.

Installation & Administration (12-04)

This is the installation and administration class for Audium. The contents are:

  • A folder containing the agenda.
  • A folder containing two quick references and the Audium Bank specification.
  • A folder containing the slideshow for the class.
  • A folder containing files that the trainer can give to the students to help in the class (for example, the two applications given to students as part of the administration learning process). Note that when using the PSS laptops, a different set of content must be used.

Dispatcher Files

Over the course of running the training classes, we have collected various solutions to the problem of how to have students call into their applications. This folder contains three different solutions involving dispatch VoiceXML pages that take care of directing the caller to the appropriate Audium application. Each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. Each trainer may use these as a starting point and can modify them as desired to match their unique setup. Note that the dispatcher to use is determined by whether CVP is run in standalone mode or not. If there are other types of dispatchers developed to teach your class, submit them and we can add them to this archive.

Software / Licensing

Software and licensing will be made available to trainers directly. Contact Audium to facilitate this.
