Recently noticed that there have been repeated questions from our developer community complaining that they can't seem to get the beep to work with <record>. They have set the beep attribute to "true" alright, and the reference guide even says this is supported but why doesn't it work?

Earlier today, as I was typing a comment in our internal issuing-tracking system, I hit backspace to correct a typo. WHAM! I go back to the previous page, and my long-winded comment is gone. Apparently I somehow left the context of the text area (did I tab, or spuriously click, or??), which causes backspace to act as a hotkey for "Back". The web browser was not very forgiving of my mistake.

Are your IVR applications forgiving? They should be.

Mark Gibbs over at Network World has put together a spiffy little scoring system for customer service systems (including many criteria for IVR systems). How would callers score your IVR using Mark's guidelines? Place a call and find out, you may be surprised.

If you're using JNDI to connect to your database through Tomcat, then it's possible you've had to deal with database connection pool leaks. Your code tests fine, it's been reviewed, but in load tests or in production your app is unable to acquire database connections, the pool is empty!

Fear not, there are some handy parameters which can be set in your application's XML configuration file (in tomcat/conf/Catalina/YOUR_IP/YOUR_APP.xml):

Ability to move columns around (drag n drop) the way you want them
Ability to print the list
Ability to export to comma delimited txt file

Just basic features that designers will expect.

Hi Karl,

Please find the responses to your items below.

[quote:996026f41e]Ability to move columns around (drag n drop) the way you want them[/quote:996026f41e]

This feature is currently possible with Prompt Manager. In the Prompt Manager view, click on the second icon on the right, with the tool tip text "Choose Columns". This option allows you to define which columns you want to display and which ones you want to hide.
Please refer to the built-in Audium Studio Help for details about this feature as well as other features in Studio. Help is available by choosing from the menu Help -> Help Contents -> Audium User Guide.

This feature is currently possible with Documenter. Simply right-click on your application's name in Studio and choose Documenter. Next, uncheck all the options besides the last one - Recording List. The outputted document will have the list off all the prompts, both TTS and Audio files as well as the additional space for comments. Such document can be later sent to the recording studio to have all the prompts recorded.

Documenter,a s mentioned above, exports the prompts to the RTF file. Developers can then modify the document to their liking.

Hope it explains everything,
Michael

Mike,

I'll have to play a bit more with documenter to confirm all that.

It might be worth just having a documenter function call on top of the prompt table that is purely configured just for exporting that table.

Just rounds off the functionality

Hi Karl,

Thanks for the feedback. We have entered an enhancement request into our internal issue-tracking system to recommend a new toolbar button in Prompt Manager that provides a special shortcut to Documenter. The ID of that request is CSCsh56704, please refer to that ID in the future to track that request's status.

Regards,
Vance
