Earlier today, as I was typing a comment in our internal issuing-tracking system, I hit backspace to correct a typo. WHAM! I go back to the previous page, and my long-winded comment is gone. Apparently I somehow left the context of the text area (did I tab, or spuriously click, or??), which causes backspace to act as a hotkey for "Back". The web browser was not very forgiving of my mistake.

Are your IVR applications forgiving? They should be.

Has any one seen the following error in CVP when calling an external application from ICM script.

The same URL above is fine in IE from the same server, so it is not a DNS issue.

Any help is appreicated. This application used to work fine before, something change and I cannot figure out what emoticon

do you have a Studio application called 'AppName' that's been deployed
to your VxmlServer??

Did you set the ICM variable UseVxmlParams to 'N'?

Hi Praveen -

Did you get this resolved?  The only other thing that I wondered about was the sequence of the parameters.  While it technically should make no difference, I'm wondering about the fact that the "application=AppName" appears at the end of the URL.

Did you put that string in Call.user.microapp.ToExtVXML[0]?

Hi Praveen,

How was this issue resolved. Iam also getting a similar error.

From this URL in your error message, it looks like a number of
variables haven't been assigned correctly within your ICM routing script:
http://192.168.5.186:8180/en-us/app/Server?callid=EA7ED4CA5C&application=HelloWorld

1. you must set the ECC variable media_server to
"http://VxmlServerIPaddress:7000/CVP" (where VxmlServerIPaddress should
be the IP of your VxmlServer and 7000 is the VxmlServer's Tomcat port)

2. you must set app_media_lib to ".."

These 2 changes will result in the following (correctly formed) URL:
http://192.168.5.186:8180/CVP/en-us/../Server?callid=EA7ED4CA5C&application=HelloWorld

Hi Janine,

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. Its working now.

Harish

Hi Janine,

Iam setting up a cvp comprehensive lab setup and I have some issues.

1) When I try to Play a message using Run External Scripts. The message plays and the script gets aborted on that node.
(http://192.168.5.186:7000/CVP/audio/message.wav). The script works fine otherwise (calling CVP script).

2) When i try to dial the cti route point number from ipphone. It reaches the cvp script (Run External Script node Pointing to the cvp application) and runs it, after that its aborting.

Thanks,
Harish.

It sounds like you may not be properly handling the transfer to "987654" when invoking the Play Media microapp (or within VXML/Call Studio app).

Whenever a media file is played, the VXML dialog invokes a transfer to the number "987654".  This looks like a real call to the voice gateway/VXML gateway, so if it is not properly captured and blocked, it will try to route that transfer.  This can cause all sorts of unexpected behavior.

In your gateway, you should have a translation rule and profile, and a dial-peer to capture this transfer:

voice translation-rule 100
 rule 1 /987654/ //
!
!
voice translation-profile block
 translate called 100
!
!
dial-peer voice 987654 voip
 translation-profile incoming block
 incoming called-number 987654

 - Bill

Hi Bill,

The translation rule and dial peer is already configured still both the issues are occuring.

Harish.

Hi,

The issues were resolved. There was a Pots dialpeer with destination .T which was creating it.

Harish

Hi,
I'm pretty new to contact center environment, can someone help me about scripting, also i want to do scripting with VXML, i mean i want to use VXML scripts in ICM
wen we do start scripting, wat nodes we need to use, for eg they are some nodes like "set Variaable", Send to VRU etc, y these nodes need to be used
I have checked some docs about scripting, they do not seem to be of much help
Can someone really help me regarding this?????

Also i need help on how to configure gateways

it would be helpful if there is a link or video available in which step-by-steps are available

Thanks & Regards
Ramya

You can start by reading the CVP Getting Started Guide

Hi harish,
I was able to get my scripting done
Now I need a help for the issue described below
I have installed ICM as in set up ICM, CVP and CCM(4.x version)
For the CVP part, i have added call server, VXML server and gateway , i was also able to telnet gateway from CVP
I used show startup config from gateway and have saved that config in a notepad
In tht i see something related to dial peer which will be used for configuring dialed numbers

I'm trying to use a dial number 8004741234 for my script

I have added this number as route pattern in CCM

Hpwever i do not know how to assign dial peer for this, as in i do not know how to use dial number in my gateway configuration so that i can make calls from any phone(other than ip communicator) to test my script
I can login to CTI Tool Kit and make calls from ip communicator

Help is really appreciated.....
I have attached gateway config, a sample of which is available from cisco webiste, can someone tell me which dial peer to use and how to modify tht for dial number

Attachments:

Hi Ramya,
My dial peers are 4-digits, but I do call in from an outside number. Are
you using SIP?

You have to configure the ingress gateway like this. When the call comes
into the ingress gateway, it needs to hit your call server (mine is
10.1.78.72 below)

dial-peer voice 2072 voip

destination-pattern 2072

session protocol sipv2

session target ipv4:10.1.78.72

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

codec g711ulaw

no vad

!

Then when the call comes back from ICM, your VxmlGateway must be
configured to handle the label returned from ICM as a dial-peer (my
label starts with 8111)

dial-peer voice 81 voip
description Label from ICM (Type 10 label+Correlation ID)
service bootstrap
incoming called-number 81T
dtmf-relay rtp-nte h245-signal h245-alphanumeric
codec g711ulaw
no vad
!

Hi
Thanks for replying to my query
I'm not using SIP  service in CVP, shld tht also be used??
Are Dial peers restricted to only 4 digits or more than that
Here in dial peer, both dial peer and destination-pattern are 2072, shld tht be the same always??

dial-peer voice 2072 voip

destination-pattern 2072
  And

dial-peer voice 81 voip
description Label from ICM (Type 10 label+Correlation ID)
service bootstrap
incoming called-number 81T
dtmf-relay rtp-nte h245-signal h245-alphanumeric
codec g711ulaw
no vad
In the above the dial-peer voice is 81 voip and is tht for the incoming called-number 81T
and here description means the decriptions tht we give in route pattern in CCM while creatig a route point

shld we give the entire incoming number, like for eg if i'm using two dialed nos say 8004741234 and 8082223345, shld it be again 81T or different

Please advice
Help required again...
