Is there a field type you can specify for a custom element that will make the field a password style field, with the characters entered hidden and hashed when saved in the config file?

I am off on personal-day today and will reply to your email tomorrow.

Nothing that I know of. You might see whether Eclipse has some sort of
plugin for this. But, Studio doesn't have anything of its own for this.

Why is your design requiring you store something on the studio element. I would rather have it encrypted in config file and then be decrypted and read in studio and reverse when it needs to be updated.
