Digits Element - Interdigit timeout

Hi,

Currently have an issue with CVP 9.0, I actualiy have a Digit element to capture user account inputs, the configuration is the following:

MinDigits:3
MaxDigits:6
No Input Timeout: 5s
Digits max no input: 3
Digits max no match: 3

I noticed that when the caller try to use the digit element to capture the input once he/she press 3 to 5 keys the timeout is longer than the configured No Input Timeout. I think there could be a place on the configuration where i can ajust this value. This doesn't happen with a 2 lenght input or if user presses #.
Please kindly help.

Regards,

The setting you are describing is interdigittimeout. I think this VXML property can be set globally for your whole application or just for that element.

The interdigittimeout will be valid between 3 and 5 digits. So use that property to set it to the appropriate value you need. I would suggest that you set it locally at the element as for some other elements you may have fixed no of digits.

*************************** The default Cisco value for
interdigittimeout is 10s (10 seconds!) which seems ridiculously long to me.
*************************** I suggest you change it in the root
document, under Project/Properties/Root Doc (remember to use the 's' at
the end of the time unit, otherwise it defaults to milliseconds).
*************************** You can always change it temporarily
within an element.
*************************** There's also another property named
'termtimeout' (which is usually disabled, rightfully so) that is like
interdigittimeout, but only kicks in after the MaxDigits is entered and
when you are waiting for caller to enter the termchar #. If needed at
all, this should be set to something like '5s' within any Digits element
that needs it.
