Vance and Cory,

Are you aware that the cvp 4 installer, installs its Tomcat on port 7000 - without any warning about it?

It's not a problem, except that the entire eLearning course indicates that students should use port 8080.

Also, the CVP 4 Installer, doesn't create a menu where you can start Tomcat. It's installed as a Service (and there's no choice given to the person intalling it as to whether to install it as a Service or not).

Hi Janine,

Good catch; please bring this to ElementK's attention. This should be a fairly simple change, as long as they haven't completely locked down the courses. I think the URL only appears in a few pages. Hopefully they have the capability to do a global text search for "8080", which would show the problem areas.

However, it does impact some steps in the lab guide. I'll send you the latest version (with my own edits), could you please update it appropriately and send it back to me?

Since the eLearning discussions haven't been handled on this forum, let's continue this via email (can't believe I just said that -- sorry web 2.0), so that we can keep everyone else in the loop.

Regards,
Vance
