Did you set the input type in form to dtmf only ?

I am in a Nuance 8.5 environment and feel like I'm overlooking something obvious because this should be working i think.

I have a form in my studio app that has input mode set to dtmf and a 1 and 2 set in two different dtmfkeypress settings. I have one audio prompt set to play in the initial audio group with bargein enabled. I am using the cisco 4.0/7./8.5 with Nuance 8.5 gateway adapter in my app settings.

My assumption here was that dtmf tones would be the only input that would register.. however i'm able to bargein on the prompt by speaking, I can also trigger a nomatch event when speaking (of course because there is no grammar). I can accomplish the desired results by using the cisco-dtmf adapter but if I'm in a speech enabled application and want to fire off a menu that I dont' want speech utterances registering then these two menus can't be in the same menu?
