CVP 7.0.1 SIP
ICM 7.2.4

CVP has call control using combination Call Director/Comp deployment model. Call control protocol is SIP. Inbounds calls are delivered via SIP trunk to Acme Packet SBC, CUP, and CVP. Calls are moved to Avaya ACD via SIP and Acme using translation routes. Data is passed to Avaya via PG UUI field.

Customer wants us to send the inbound Dialed Number (10 digits) to Avaya with the call and prefers not to use the UUI field.

I got the following info from Avaya who claim they have seen systems where CVP is passing data via the MIME field:

"The customer uses the Generic Transport Descriptor (GTD). Cisco adds data in the MIME as an application type GTD. My understanding is that CVP is sending INVITE with data to Covergence CXC as GTD in MIME body that the CXC then converts to header for Avaya per RFC 3261 johnston-sipping draft. In discussing with AcmePacket, they believe they can do the same thing."

As mentioned, we did deploy Acme Packet SBC's.

As far as I know, there is no way to populate SIP headers with data within CVP or ICM.

I believe GTD is used in conjuction with Q931 and may not be applicable here. But is it possible to pass the Dialed Number to a target endpoint in a manner described above using SIP?

Thanks,

Frank

Charles,
WIll you please let me know the basic configuartion requirement for passing UUI data to ICM. We are using CVP comprehensive model. UUI is receiving from Service provider on SIP circuit. So what all basic configuartion required on Ingress gateway and CVP call server.
