Are there any restrictions with IP-IVR version 5.0.2 connecting to External Databases using Microsoft SQL 2005? Any requirements needed to setup to connect to a SQL 2005 database?

Hi John,
I think you have posted to the incorrect forum. This is the CVP Forum,
not IP-IVR.

Could not find an IP-IVR forum section.

I have another question regarding creating the section or what the proper section to use for IP-IVR

Hi John,
Looks like there is not a forum yet on the CDC for IP-IVR:

Your best bet is to use the Contact Center forum on NetPro:

John-

We are doing this very thing now with an external 2005 SQL database (64bit). Just need to install SQL client on IPIVR if running MSDE.
Our setup is:
ICM 7.2.3 (PG is a little buggy...moving to 7.2.4)
IPIVR: 5.0.2
CallManager 6.1.2

Chris,

Thanks for the insight on posting on the NetPro site, hadn't thought of that.

Hope they get an IP-IVR section soon on this site though.

John

Michael,

Thanks for the confirmation on this, more comfortable knowing that I shouldn't run into a problem connecting to external SQL 2005 Database to backend our Self Service apps.

One not for you though, as you mentioned you were moving to 7.2.4 (which we are currently on). In response to a question on 3rd party softwares on the Cisco CCUG site, I received the following note on v7.2.4.

"First off, get to 7.2.5 as quickly as you can. Many bugs uncovered in 7.2.4 with CTI OS."

Just an FYI and thanks for the confirmation, you might want to move directly to 7.2.5 (I'm already looking through it).
