I'm currently testing a web-based signage and kiosk system on the DMP 4400. It's my understanding that it can cache images, but it doesn't cache movies. This would make it impractical to load movies from a remote host, as each time a movie in a playlist would be presented, it would have to load from the beginning, causing a very noticeable lag in playback performance. Our tests have shown this to be the case.
 
Is there any way around this beyond loading the content either locally or from a LAN? Will current or future iterations of the DMP be able to cache movies?
