Maximum PNG resolution in DMP 4310?

Dear Team,

We've discovered that using large resolution PNG images (above 1024x768) pixels results in the image being scaled, manifesting as aliased pixels (jaggies) on the image.
However, when we use images less or equal to 1024x768 images are crisp and sharp.

Is there a maximum resolution limit on the DMP 4310 (firmware 5.2.2) before the device starts scaling the image?

Attached are screenshots of the same image taken from DMP 4310 versus a DMP 4400 as comparison. Notice the text in the 4310 is a lot more blurry.

Have you figured this out? We are experiencing the same problem. Every image is blurry if we utilize the Digital Media Designer and the DMM to deliver the content. If we FTP directly to the box and upload a Flash file and tell the box to play the file it looks great (no blur). The same Flash file delivered via DMM is awful. We quit ordering the DMP 4310s and are sticking with the DMP 4400s until we see a resolution (no pun intended) to this problem.

Hi David,

We found out that JPG format images will be blurry on a 4310 when exceeding 1024x768 due to DMP decoding errors for JPG. However, images in PNG format are sharp without resolution limit. We have confirmed this in our Flash files. Do note however that PNG's will have more performance hit on the DMP due to extra alpha color channels and larger file size compared to a similar JPEG.

Here's a sample link to an application running on our DMP4310 using PNG's instead of JPG. You can test this URL on your 4310 to confirm.
