A few questions to get some context. Can you give more details about the text that you have pasted? Is this the HTML that you used to upload your asset? Have you been able to upload an asset using the HTML form in the document titled "Digital Signs API Programmer Guide v5.2.2, 5.2.3, 5.3.pdf"?

    <summary type="html">Is the NTP server reachable during the DMP boot up (i.e. can you ping it from the DMP network)? There is a known issue where if this is not the case, then the NTP service will never start. This is scheduled to be fixed in the 5.4 release.

Other than that, just make sure you don't have ICMP traffic blocked.</summary>

I just tried this on a DMP 4400 running 5.2.2 and I am having no problems. You should see some text at the top left of your browser. It isn't particularly apparent (although it isn't hidden by any means either), perhaps you are just missing it?

    <summary type="html">While this isn¿t a fix, to confirm that the system time is in fact incorrect you can enter the following link in a browser:

If this time is correct, then there is an error in their application somewhere. Otherwise it is probably DMP related.

    <summary type="html">You can go into the DMM and upload an HTML asset. From there you can display this html asset on any number of playlists or presentations and deploy to your DMPs. Once you have done this, you can edit the text on your web page as needed, and the changes should be reflected in all of your playlists and presentations. One point to note is that this will not work with the 4310 (which has no browser).

You should be able to achieve this using the API. You will need know what assets are in the original playlist, and then you can modify them as you please and create a new playlist that contains your changes.

While I don't have a concrete date on hand, we are planning to add this functionality in the future.
 
As for the API tester, in the most current version the template you are referring to should be removed; that API template did not perform the intended behavior.
 
For future reference, whenever in doubt, refer to the API Documentation over other sources. The API Tester is a great tool, but it is not officially supported by Cisco or DMS.

    <summary type="html">You do not need to manually switch from video to browser when using the DMP. If you create a playlist that has an asset that points to an HTML page, and then to a video, both will be able to play without any manual configuration change.
