DMP 4400 HTML, Flash display issues

DMP 4400 HTML, Flash display issues

Hello,
  I just received a DMM and DMP 4400.  They are set up and configured correctly (I think.)  I created a playlist that contains:
- an HTML asset (a basic "Hello World" html document)
- a video asset (Pets_video.mpg: a default video component included with the DMM)
- a flash asset (snowflakes.swf : also a default component included with the DMM)
 
When scheduling this playlist to play, the only thing that displays correctly is the video.  For the flash component, I get a blank white screen.  For the HTML component, I get a dark screen.
 
Any ideas why flash and HTML are not working?
 
The 4400 firmware version is 5.2.1, Build Date: Mon Jun 14 12:42:37 PDT 2010
I am using an HDMI connection with the DMP.

Hi Matt,

You are most likely seeing a blank white screen, because the snowflakes.swf Flash asset is a white foreground file. It was meant to be used as an overlay more than an individual asset. I would recommend choosing another swf file.

As for the dark screen with the HTML asset, it could be that both the font and the background are black. Have you tried changing the font color?

I actually figured it out. I had to supply a background color in my HTML file, which I think is strange. I would assume, like most other browsers do, that no background color would get you a white background.
