We solved this problem by using a video processor to rotate the source video, and then fed the output from the video processor into a separate encoder to feed the portrait displays.

Does anyone have a suggestion or solution to playing live streaming video in portrait mode? We utilize the rotate screen function available on the DMP 4400s to display signage in portrait mode. Only problem is that the video stays horizontal so it is sideways and squashed on the screens. Even VOD is displayed incorrectly.

Also, when you get the new stream, in order to maintain aspect ratios, you'll have black bars in your video stream above and below the video. We laid other content on top of those bars...
