Finesse gadgets can be hosted on your own web server or on the Finesse server itself.

To host gadgets on your own web server, you host the gadget just as you would any web site. You could use IIS, Apache, etc. That is up to you.

Can a gadget be added to the container in current release? This particular gadget is a .NET app (REST/JSO) that searches auto insurance rate based on zip code and age.

In the current EFT, Finesse doesn't support the ability to add 3rd party gadgets to the container.  This is an extremely important feature and this is at the top of the feature list as we start our next release.  We will release this on CDN as soon as we have it.  No ETA as now however.
