Can not modify CCERealm.properties

There seems to be a bit of a problem in changing the settings in the CCERealm.properties file (as stated in the install guide) with root access being disabled. Also, the cfadmin gadget page settings has no affect on getting things working.
We have a very straight forward lab setup with all of the latest (as of today) 8.5.1 version on ICM and UC (Finesse UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.0.98000-400.sgn). We are able to push calls through to CTIOS desktop agents with no problem (in case anyone ask the newbie questions). Can anyone explain how to configure Finesse with the basic ability to get an agent logged in with the Finesse desktop while not having root access and using the cfadmin gadget page?
Thanks,
Michael Clendening

Version 8.5(1) has been deprecated. Please use version 8.5(3).

Thanks for the reply...
If you notice the post, I state that we are the latest build that is available on the website (UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.0.98000-400.sgn) which is Finesse 8.5(3). We are also on ICM 8.5.1, which is supported on Finesse.
Thanks,

We are also having the same issue trying to modify the CCERealm.properties file. Any explanation on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Have you downloaded the latest 8.5(3) version? We did have an issue on the download site so I would suggest downloading the latest to see if that fixes your issue.

Also should have added that using the latest version of the developer release mandates a fresh install. Upgrade won't work.

The latest install is UCSInstall CCD 8.5.3.98000-400.sgn not UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.0.98000-400.sgn. If you did indeed install UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.3.98000-400.sgn you should have root access. If you have installed 8.5(3) you should have root access and be able to modify /opt/cisco/desktop/conf/CCERealm.properties file.
Here is a sample file:
com.cisco.finesse.realm.driver=net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver
com.cisco.finesse.realm.dbURL=jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://10.86.139.34:1433;DatabaseName=ucce_awdb;domain=finesse.bxb
com.cisco.finesse.realm.dbusername=administrator
com.cisco.finesse.realm.dbpassword=cisco
com.cisco.finesse.realm.dbdomain=finesse.bxb
com.cisco.finesse.realm.peripheralId=5001

Here is an interesting situation the fine Cisco development team may not be aware of:
The download links for the six parts (on the documentation page of this section) have the name UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.3.98000-400.sgn.part1 through UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.3.98000-400.sgn.part6. If you download them all and extract them, they will yield UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.0.98000-400.sgn.iso.
So as you can see the dev team probably believes they have posted UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.3.98000-400.sgn.iso when in fact they have posted UCSInstall_CCD_8.5.0.98000-400.sgn.iso.

The version number is old because we didn't cut a specific branch for this developer release. Aside from the confusion on build number, were you able to edit the realm properties file?

How do you access the CCERealm.propertie through CLI? When ever i log in through SSH i just get the standard CUCM OS Command line. There is no way that i can access the root to edit this file. I have downloaded the latest file from the documents section and have done a fresh install. Any ideas?

You should log into Finesse using SSH or WinSCP. I like WinSCP. The username passwd is root/cisco. From there, navigate to the CCE Realm File and edit it.
