Hello All,

I have a Open Source 3rd party chat application which i need to integrate with Cisco.

I am planning to use a Media Routing PG (Cisco) for communicating with this application.

The Following are my queries :

  1. Can i use GED 125 protocol for communication?? Does Media - chat uses a different protocol altogether?

  2. Does Cisco provide any documents for this approach ( Using a Media Routing PG with a third party App)

  3. I am able to connect to the Application but i get the following Socket Errors from the PG side...

"SOCKET_ERROR = 10053, timeout occured waiting for response OPEN_REQ which means the connection is established between the APP and the PG but since the App didnt respond to the request it times out."

This error is due to the fact that the PG is not able to get the correct response message after giving the OPEN_REQ header message.

Should the Application return a OPEN_CONF (as in a VRU PG) and if so what will the message header and message look like??

It would be really helpful for me in case if anyone can provide a ICM/MR PG interface specification guide (like the one we have for the VRU PG).

Apologies if the doubt was very generic.

Thanks,
Prasaanth.VN

The Media Routing PG has a different protocol that is not public. The
GED-125 (IVR-PG) protocol is not used for Media Routing. You can
contact the Cisco Product Manager Ted Phipps (tephipps@cisco.com) for
further information regarding the Media Routing PG protocol.

Hello David,

Tried Contacting Ted through mail and have not got any response from him till now. Can you let me know if there is anything i can do to get some inputs regarding the same???

Prasaanth,

The ICM PG MR protocol is not public.  We do not distribute the API documentation.  Bucher and Suter has a product that allows you to take advantage of media routing functionality like reserving agents and routing media requests. Bucher and Suter's product utilizes the MR protocol.

Details are here:

Thanks,
Ted
