Hi,

I'd like to know if is it possible to login into IP Communicator or IP HardPhone with an AD User.

I'd like to unlock Windows and login into IP Comm or HardPhone with the same user through application or service.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Victor,
PLease check out Parsec's MARS PC SYNC Cisco IPT application at
http://www.parsec-tech.com/utility_applications.html#MarsPCSync

The application should fulfill your requirements.

<h1 style="margin-left: .25in; text-align: justify; text-indent: -.25in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .25in;">Application Overview</h1>
MARS PCSync is a utility application for Cisco
Extension Mobility users which allows synchronization of the user Cisco IP
Phones with his workstation PC.

In real world scenarios users normally forget to
log onto their phones while coming to the office and log out while not in the
desk.
PCSync facilitates automatic EM (Extension
Mobility) log-in to configured Cisco IP Phone while the user log into the organization
domain through workstation and automatic EM log-out of the IP phone when the
user logs out of the domain.

If the user locks his workstation then
simultaneously the IP Phone is also locked out. In this locked state only
incoming calls and configured outgoing calls are only allowed, thus preventing
misuse of the phone in his absence.
If the user unlocks his workstation then
simultaneously the IP phone also gets unlocked.

Advantages of MARS PCSync along with Cisco
Extension Mobility (EM)

EM: With Extension Mobility if the user forgets to
logout his EM profile while leaving his desk then the phone is left open for
unauthorized usage.
EM+PCSync: With Parsec’s MARS PCSync application this is
solved as the application can be configured to lock the phone automatically on
PC lock action.

EM: To prevent misuse of a phone in his absence a
user needs to logout his EM profile before leaving his desk and from then on
all further incoming calls will be directly diverted to his voice mail.
In such a case any person calling (might be
customer/boss) might have the impression that the person is not in office.
EM+PCSync: If Mars PCSync is present then all the
incoming calls will land on the phone and on not being answered the call will
be diverted to the voice mail. Thus the case of not in office status can be
avoided.

EM: To prevent misuse of a phone in his absence a
user needs to logout his EM profile before leaving his desk. On returning to
his desk the employee has to check each of his voice mail to know the calls he
has missed.
EM+PCSync: If MARS PCSync is present then the employee on
returning to his desk can see the list of missed calls at the click of a
button.

EM+PCSync: With MARS PCSync if required the employee can
ask his colleague to answer an important call which he is expecting when he is
not in his desk which will not be possible by logging out his EM profile
because the call will not land on the phone.

I've done that, using the CTI OS Toolkit, but do not know if is possible with CallManager, because the concept is little different.

The Extension Mobility XML API can be used to programmatically log users in/out of a device: http://developer.cisco.com/web/emapi/docs
