this is only an issue in IE. The same code works in Firefox and Chrome.

    <summary type="html">We are working on deploying presence on our intranet.  We are using Quick contacts to create a temporary subscription for the user.  If the user we are looking for presence for is not logged into the presence server we don't get any presence status until there is a change in presence (on the phone).  Some of the users that we are looking for might not ever login into the presence server but we want to be able to get their phone status.  Is there a way to get an "offline" status but still display their phone status?</summary>

The web SDK doesn't support such feature, for the client it should be just as easy as clicking the clip icon in the chat window

If I undertstand your questions correctly, I think the jabberwerx.RosterController and jabberwerx.RosterContact allow to implement what you describe. Have you tried the [url=http://developer.cisco.com/jabber/doc/api/symbols/jabberwerx.RosterController.html#updateContact]RosterController.updateContact[/url] and/or [url=http://developer.cisco.com/jabber/doc/api/symbols/jabberwerx.RosterContact.html#setGroups]RosterContact.setGroups[/url] operations ? They accept group names to associate with the contact.

I'm working with jabber chat service... i have a requirment like grouping the users... for example.. just think i have more than 20 users in my chat list from different team like Java team,Dot net team, Business team and Testing team.What i want to do is i want to create the group for each team and assign the corresponding users to respective groups.And also i want move the users from one group to another group.
Can you please let me know how can i do this in jabber client.As of now i have download the CAXl from internet and modifing the scripts to get my requirments.

I beleive this is due to the CORS restriction in IE. You can try using a proxy server to redirect https://im4.ciscowebex.com/http-bind from your local host server to avoid the sel-signed problem.
This should do the trick.

i use http on my local machine for development but i request a page from cisco with https. this doesn't work in IE.
i tried to use a self-signed ssl certificate create with IIS. it seems that the client can connect to the webex server, but after tha i get the following error:

    <summary type="html">Hi, i have a problem connecting to the cisco im server using IE10. My BOSH-URL is https://im4.ciscowebex.com/http-bind When i open my web-app in chrome and firefox all works fine, but if i use IE10 i get an "Access is denied" warning and the client doesn't connect to the jabber server. I think the problem is caused by the xhr request done by jquery (seems that there is an issue with cross domain xhr). I tried to change the old jquery 1.4.2 used by jabberwerx.ui.js to a newer one 1.9.0. For a short test i've done jabberwerx.$ = $ while $ is the newer jquery i use in my app. With this i don't get "Access is denied". Never the less with this hack i get another error in IE10 "callback on resourcepresencechanged failed: Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: c [ xmlns=http://jabber.org/protocol/caps ] :: undefined Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: c [ xmlns=http://jabber.org/protocol/caps ]"   Has someone the same issue and how can this be solved?</summary>

Downloaded jabberwerx.ui from this location Version 2012.02 of the AJAX XMPP Library (CAXL) for hosted deployment .
And also using jquery1.4.1.
Today I am not able to login into my application. it s getting the same error.

From the UI, after login you then click on "Enter Room" to add a chat room. Ex: room1. Now, you will have room1 available as button.

    <summary type="html">The presence is based on the CUCM/CUPS server, let's say the mobile phone is using Jabber client with their login, people can still see their presence and IM. No need to register their phone number. This is the same when using hosted solution such as via Webex Connect.
