Next week we will be posting information about using the RAVE lab with Jabber. The Remote Access Validation Environment (RAVE) allows you to access Cisco Voice Services, and Cisco IM &amp; Presence resources from both the IP phones and from Cisco Unified Personal Communicator (CUPC) running on a computer.
I'll update this post when it is up. 

I understand that you are interested in user group partitioning. You will have to create separate profiles for each group and then assign users to that profile. Here's a YouTube video that demonstrates how to do that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdqNLBBwjvE
