Thanks for the response.  I'm basically saying, what if it's not a web application, but instead a service running on a server? Does that make sense?  I would assume in this instance, this SDK wouldn't be appropriate for that?
Thanks again,
Darren.</summary>

    <summary type="html">Hi Darren,
I am not sure I understand the question. A JabberSDK-based web application gets presence updates after a status was updated on the presence server, whatever source triggered the update. For example, a presence status changed by user A in Jabber for Windows will be reflected in user B's web application and vice-versa.
Hope this replies to your question,

    <summary type="html">Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask or even if this is possible.  I understand that the SDK is primarily aimed at providing the capability to integrate into existing web applications.  But, what if I wanted to provide another service for updating a users presence status, not via a web application where the user logs in?  Is this more likely to be the pub/sub functionality?  Any thoughts or pointers in the right direction greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
D.</summary>
