Hello,

Is-it possible to control a device when using extension mobility ?

When selecting a device profile I received this error :

cannot get config file result=68 TFTP: File Not Found
09-Jul-2012 16:24:25,015 +0200 DEBUG [0x000011c8] csf.ecc: insecureRetrieveConfig() failed to retrieve file tftp://10.248.127.140/DP_dts8.cnf.xml, try next server

Thanks in advance,
Christophe

Hi Christophe,

Can you explain to me what you mean by controlling a device? What do you have in mind?

Here is documentation on extension mobility:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_6_1/ccmfeat/fsem.html#wpxref51829

Thanks,
Adrienne

Hi Adrienne,

We would like to control a Device Profile which is logged on an IpPhone through the Jabber Web Communicator Plugin.

When you enter the credential on Jabber Web Communicator and select Deskphone control (not softphone), the software check which device your user is supposed to control. So it returns the User Device Profile (already logged in with Extension Mobility on a random phone).
If you select this UDP and then connect, you're supposed to place call through Jabber Web Communicator (with the Device Profile)

After many tries, it doesn't seem to be supported.
Any idea, or feature roadmap ?

Thank you
Regards
Christophe

Hi Christophe,

When you try to place a call, what error do you get?

Thanks,
Adrienne

Hi Adrienne,

The error message is in the 1st message of this topic :
cannot get config file result=68 TFTP: File Not Found
09-Jul-2012 16:24:25,015 +0200 DEBUG [0x000011c8] csf.ecc: insecureRetrieveConfig() failed to retrieve file tftp://10.248.127.140/DP_dts8.cnf.xml, try next server

Christophe

Hi Christophe,

What OS/browser/plugin are you running ?
Could you send a fresh softphone.log to jabbersdk-support@cisco.com ?

I am not very familiar with extension mobility, a few things to check:
[1] Is CUCM 10.248.127.140 running the TFTP service ?
[2] In CUCM admin, open the user page. Is the "allow control of device from CTI" checkbox ticked (Extension Mobility section) ?
[3] If done manually, verify the configuration of device "DP_dts8" in CUCM ? Any other similar device to compare with ?
[4] Any firewall or network configuration which would block TFTP (port 69) and/or HTTP (port 6970) between the client and CUCM ?
[5] Can you successfully login to the same CUCM, same user, in softphone mode and/or deskphone mode controlling a different device (ex: hard phone) ?

Cheers, Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for your answer.
It seems that we resolve the issue. It was a problem with CTI control rights on the CUCM.

Thanks again
