Yes, you can use the old SDK with new plugin.
But, we will be still insteresting to know why it happen on your machine. Could you please send me the log? Are you using Chinese OS/IE?

Hello Howard,
Yes, We are using the Windows 7 Chinese edition and IE chinese. I tried three Windows 7 computers with MR2 client and got the same result.
I can send the log. But, Where can I put it?

Hi Andy,

Please make sure that you uninstall the old plugin completely and reboot before install the new MR2 plugin. We have customers who reported similar crash and still not resolved when they didn't completely uninstall the old plugin. MR2 should resolve many IE9 crashe issues.
