What is Jabber?

Cisco Jabber is a unified communications (UC) application that lets users be more productive, anytime, from anywhere on any device.  They can quickly and easily find people, see if and how they are available, and collaborate using their preferred method, including instant messaging (IM), voice, video, voice messaging, desktop sharing and conferencing.

The Cisco Jabber application is available for PC, Mac, tablet and smartphones and can be used with on-premise or cloud-based UC services.

The main focus of this Jabber Developer site is to provide you with a Jabber web tool kit to enable you to integrate Cisco Jabber collaboration capabilities directly into your web applications.

But we've also recently made it possible for you to launch the Cisco Jabber application for PC, Mac, tablet and smartphones from within your mobile application.

It also integrates with other Cisco Collaboration solutions, TelePresence video, WebEx Meetings, security AnyConnect secure mobile clients, etc.
