Well I decided to try and stage a bunch of drives using a single SRE for speed. I brought up VMWare and loaded up the datastore with my images. Removed the drive and put in a fresh drive with a blank datastore (already formatted as a datastore). Well VMWare removed the old datastore as expected but would not bring up the new datastore. I tried to discover new drives, hardware and datastores to no avail. I reloaded the SRE and then datastore appeared and was ready for files. Since eventually Raid1 will be supported I would have thought that hot swapping the drives would be an option. Is hot swapping of drives supported?

Hi Scott,

Hot swapping with the RAID1 configuration will be supported in the SRE-V 1.1 release. For now you do need to reload the service module.

Thanks,

Brett

Hi Brett,

What's the timing (and other content) in the SRE-V 1.1 release? Will any recertification be required?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,

SRE-V 1.1 is scheduled for release in April 2011, subject to change. You will not need to recertify.

Thanks,

Brett
