Christopher Weeks | Customer purchased a new SRE-910 w/Microsoft 2008 bundle (MSWS-08R2ST-X86-K9). The customer wants to create two seperate instance of Windows 2008, but when we try to power on the second virtual machine, we get the following error. We have tried many things, including modifying some values within the OVF and VMX files, namely: uuid.action = "create" pcie.reportDataLink= "TRUE" Here is the error we get anytime we try to power on the second virtaul machine, and the first vm is already running:
Module ACPI power on failed. This host does not provide the ACPI Software Licensing (SLIC) table required to resume this virtual machine. Insufficient video RAM. The maximum resolution of the virtual machine will be limited to 1672x1254. To use the configured maximum resolution of 2560x1600, increase the amount of video RAM allocated to this virtual machine by setting svga.vramSize="16384000" in the virtual machine's configuration file.
I think this could be a result of the fact the he is trying to run two instances of the same installed software, but the licenses are becoming an issue (rightfully so).
Can anyone confirm if this is normal, or should he actaull be able to power on two independant windows virtual machines, and only have 1 license?
If the customer needs to buy a second license file for MSWS-08R2ST-X86-K9, please let me know.
Thanks in advance, Chris
|
