    <summary type="html">Hi Safiye,

The External interface on Sm 700 module does not show up on the Router IOS side. You will need to configure this via vsphere client. Please create a new VM network port group using vmnic0 which is the external port on SM-SRE blades. Once you create this please move the Ubuntu’s ethernet adapter to this newly created port group.

Thanks,
Radhika

Subject: New Message from Safiye turgut in Service Ready Engine Virtualization - SRE-V Technical Questions: Configure External Interface on SRE-V SM

Safiye turgut has created a new message in the forum "SRE-V Technical Questions": -------------------------------------------------------------- Hi,
I am attempting to configure the external interface on a SRE-V module and it doesn't appear to be working.
The SM is a 700 series and it is in a Cisco 2921router. I want to process packets which come from this external interface. I use ubuntu IOS on vmware.
I connected the external interface to a switch in our lab and ensure the cable is working.
I attached the vsphere network configuration. I can not see external interface on the vm. Please advise me what cal I do?
The SM is configured with the following:
interface SM1/0
ip address 10.231.14.17 255.255.255.248
service-module ip address 10.231.14.18 255.255.255.248
