Hi Scott,

With SRE-v 1.0.1 release the Hypervisor IP address that is the one you assign to Service-module mgf ip address xxxx¿ has to be in Vlan 1.

Thanks,

Radhika

Scott,

Just to clarify, the Hypervisor (ESXi Host) IP has to be in Vlan 1 in
this release, but you can assign the Virtual Machines to other VLANs.

For more information on this configuration see section 9.6 of the SRE-V
Self Training Guide -
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps11273/installation_
guide_c07-640002.html or the configuring VLANs section of the SRE-V
Installation Guide -
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/sre_
v/1.0/user/guide/interface.html#wp1108337

If the VLAN 1 restriction for the ESXi Host IP is a problem, let me know
- we may be able to change this in a future release.

Best Regards,

John

It is just that I do not know how to have VLAN1 and GIG0/0.1 (vlan 1) in the same IP range. Can I do the following:

interface Vlan1
ip unnumbered GIG0/0.1 (ip unnumbered GIG 0/0 in this case)

Is this true in sre-v-k9.smv.1.0.2 or just sre-v-k9.smv.1.0.1?

The same limitation holds for both 1.0.1 and 1.0.2

You should be able to configure

Interface Vlan 1

ip unnumbered GIG 0/0

Just note that once you do this you will have to add ip route on the router for the mgf ip address you configure for the hypervisor.

Thanks,

Radhika

IP unnumbered commands can't be used in iteration so cant do the following: A ip unnumbered on B unnumbered on C.

You can use the config mentioned by Radhika.
