Hi All,

I have requested from Cisco to provide me new LIC license to be imported to router.
It successfully imported to router but below are the errors.

Installing...Feature:SRE-V-HOST-LIC...Successful:Not Supported
1/1 licenses were successfully installed
0/1 licenses were existing licenses
0/1 licenses were failed to install

AND

StoreIndex: 1   Feature: SRE-V-HOST-LIC                    Version: 1.0
        License Type: Permanent
License State: Active, Not in Use
        License Count: Non-Counted
        License Priority: Medium

I access to the ESXI using vSphere client. It shows 60 days evaluation.

My questions as below:
1. Why the SRE-V-HOST-LIC is NOT SUPPORTED when installed and NOT IN USE?
2. Is the SRE-V-HOST-LIC equal to VMWare ESXI license?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Wei,

Actually in the older versions the license should be installed in the module where as in later version such as 1.5.1 it has to be done on the VMware Vsphere Client. Please follow the steps provided under the 'Activating the VMware License Key' section of the SRE-V 1.5.1 Installation and Configuration Guide

Thanks,
Anusha

Hi Wei,

Which version of SRE-V software are you using? If it is 1.0 or 1.1 you need to install the license in on the module (that is session into the module and then install). It looks likeyou are installing on the router not the module.

The licensing scheme is different for sre-v 1.5 and later version. For the later versions you would install the license from vSphere clinet or VCenter. From your email below it looks like you have the license for 1.0 or 1.1 and if you are using 1.5 or later you will need a different license.

Thanks,

Radhika

Thanks a lot.

So that license we need to buy or we can get it from Cisco Licensing Team?

Hi Wei,

Regarding the license itself, if you did not purchase one when you ordered the service module you will need to buy it. If you believe that you already paid for one when you purchased the service module, please respond with your sales order number and we'll look it up.

Thanks,

Brett

We did purchase the license for SRE-V 1.0.
Cisco has rehosted the license for me but the SRE-V 1.0 just remain the same.

Hi Wei,

It appears that you installed the license in IOS on the router, not on the SRE module. In order to properly install the license, you need to session into the SRE module first then issue the license install command.

See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/sre_v/1.0/user/guide/license.html#wp1070051

for more information.

Your other option is to upgrade to SRE-V version 1.5, in which case you will need to exchange your 1.0 license for a 1.5 license. For more information on how to exchange your license, see

Thanks Everyone. emoticon
