I have a UCM 8.0(2) switch set up in a test lab with several SIP and SCCP phones and I am trying to make sure my call accounting software can handle CDRs from calls involving SIP phones but I am unsure how to configure the phones.  The CDR admin guide mentions that the CallingPartyNumber field (among others) can sometimes contain URLs like "bob@abc.com" but so far my SIP phones are only producing CDRs with extensions in that field.  What kind of configuration changes do I need to make within UCM for the CDRs to populate that field with a URL?

Timothy, perhaps a little more detail on your lab setup and/or test call scenario may help trigger something for someone to identify some troubleshooting options. SIP phones or softphones, UDP or TCP, SIP URI dialed vs DID, over SIP gateway to/from PSTN or internal?, etc.

I seem to remember us doing something similar awhile back, but can't remember the details- think we used softphones to make a station to station call using the SIP URI over internal SIP trunk (to try and avoid any proxies and/or as much routing/translations as possible). I believe the results were as expected, number@domain (IE; 1234567@MyDomain.com) in the orig/finalcalledpartynumber fields.

Just to clarify, perhaps you are also trying to verify if you are going to pass the SIP URI in the CDR to your software at all? If not, why not just manually alter the field in the CDR output to reflect a SIP URI prior to pushing through your call accounting software? (If your software includes call rating, a SIP URI showing in the CDR for a call that needs to be rated will likely have a much greater impact on your software than one that doesn't need to be rated- so keep that in mind if manually edit a call record).

Thank you for your help.  I hadn't thought of altering the CDRs before because I wasn't sure which other fields (if any) could also be affected, but I will try that now.

Your welcome. (Anything to save time.... fields should be CallingPartyNumber, OriginalCalledPartyNumber, and/or FinalCalledPartyNumber fields ;-).
