Thanks, David. We do have a DSP infront of the codec, so we could mute the audio there, just as easily. I typically like to use both the DSP and codec for privacy functions, as we use the real-time feedback of the codec's privacy status to drive other muting functions (such as for a telco interface, etc.). This is useful in a situation where someone uses the handheld remote to mute the mics; everyhting stays in-sync.

Just the same, David, I've never heard this request before. I suppose they want speak kindly of those on the far-end without the far-end knowing they're doing so.

Hi Brian,
this is something that we don't support directly as a configuration. Technically I guess it IS possible to do it using the API of the audio mixer to disconnect the signals from the microphones input from the output gate for output gates to the farend (see "xCommand Audio LocalInput xxx"-commands in the administrator guide). Alternatively is to adjust the input gain to the farend to the minimum value instead of muting using "xCommand Audio RemoteOutput UpdateInputGain" and set InputGain to: -54.
Personally I would ask the customer again why this is so important - I have never heard this request before :-)

Cheers,

The IR would be the last thing you should use to control the Cisco/TANDBERG devices. You should either use Serial (as discussed how to get working on C-20 (similiar solution, although different Y-cable for SX20)) OR use IP. There are modules for Crestron for both Serial and IP. the IP version requires to enable telnet on the codec but once enabled the programming will be EXACTLY the same for IP as it is for Serial (only difference will be the connection logic in the crestron program).
Using IR commands over Serial/IP is also discouraged. All functionality is available on the API as commands, configurations, statuses and events.

You can get the IP module here:

it says'C60 and C90', butI've used this with the C20 as well. Some of the hardware functions obviously won't apply, but otherwise it works great.

You could also use Crestron's serial module(s) by routing the tx/rx through a TCP/IP client. I had to do this a long time ago, and my recollection is that upon TCP/IP connect you'll need to "manually" enter the telnet log-in info. Not a big deal, but you may as well just use the above module.

I'd assume the IR commands are the same as those for the other codecs in the C-series. I'd also venture to guess these are the same (or at least useable enough) as those for the MXP.

Understanding there is no available DB9/Serial port, why not control the deveice via LAN? It's essentially the same (if not identical) protocol/API.

Hi
I reviewed several posts with regards to sending serial commands using the USB port on the C20

Does anyone the serial IR commands sent between the Cisco remote control and the camera/codec? Since the C20 doesn't have a RS2323 9 pin interface I would to know if the IR commands are documented? I would like to send commands to a Crestron controller
Thank you
